There is a new Rock in Krugersdorp!

Looking for a venue that offers great food, a variety of cocktails and other drinks, great music, live entertainment and a great vibe? Look no further, as Tequila Rock Bar & Grill in Krugersdorp is the answer!

Meet Marc Homan, the owner of Tequila Rock Bar & Grill
Marc was born and raised in Roodepoort and made an impression wherever he went. He has a great love and passion for athletics and rugby; this talent and passion were put into hard work which was rewarded with national colours for both sports. He not only was a great sportsman, he also showed talent for acting. Marc was the main character in Begeertes and the film Vaatjie sien sy gat; and had guest-star roles in Egoli and 7de Laan.

All this was just the beginning for him because he wanted more. He entered the corporate mobile industry where he worked hard and climbed the corporate ladder until he reached the highest national level where he led teams of between 400 and 600 people. Even though he enjoyed his career, he realised that something was missing. He also found that there were not enough good entertainment venues and opportunities for people to enjoy themselves. He started playing with the idea of opening an entertainment venue in Krugersdorp that offered something different, and Tequila Rock Bar & Grill was born.

A bit of history on Tequila Rock Bar & Grill
Established on April 1, 2022 after the global pandemic, Tequila Rock Bar & Grill brings you an experience worthy of its name. The decor of this stylish establishment on the first floor at Heritage Square, corner of Viljoen and Cecil Knight Streets in Krugersdorp is Mexican-inspired, and the handcrafted seating provides a unique South African twist.

Marc said he opened Tequila Rock Bar & Grill in Krugersdorp because he believed the town needed a venue like this to be able to compete with entertainment venues in Parkhurst, the North and Pretoria. Marc believes that Tequila Rock Bar & Grill is unique, because it offers patrons (21 and older) the opportunity to get together with friends, enjoy a tasty meal and a drink or two while listening to the music provided by live bands or the venue’s electronic jukebox.

Why tequila?
“It all began with one of our favourite tequilas. This was the moment we realised that this drink can become a huge trend (like in America). I believe this can become the next big thing in South Africa, and it also offers a shooter that might suit the older generation better,” Marc explained.

There is a large variety of tequilas on offer and Marc suggested that patrons’ first choice should definitely include either the Epsolon, 1800 coconut, Jose Cuervo Silver, Jose Cuervo Gold or the Tequila platter.

They also serve a variety of beers, cocktails, shooters and local spirits.

It is not just a bar, you can have a meal too!
At Tequila Rock Bar & Grill you will not only quench your thirst, but stop the hunger pangs too! The menu is Mexican-inspired with some Mediterranean, American and South African flavours in between.

Items on the menu include tapas; starters such as crumbed prawns, onion balls, jalapeno poppers, chicken tostadas, chicken or beef sliders, beef nachos, and spicy chicken wings; main dishes such as burrito bowls, tacos, tequila flambéed sirloin steak with chips, Mexican lamb meatballs, and quesadillas.

The not that hungry can try some of their side dishes, and for the sweet tooth they offer cinnamon churros, tequila sunrise panacotta, and tequila lava cake.

Why should the community support Tequila Rock Bar & Grill?
The answer to this question is simple. “We want to offer the community (21 and older) a place where they can relax, have a great time with friends and feel safe. One thing I will not allow at this venue is fighting. We are striving for this venue to be like a home away from home for every patron,” Marc explained.

Marc concluded by inviting the community to visit Tequila Rock Bar & Grill and enjoy some of their amazing mid-week lunch specials ranging from scrumptious burgers to juicy ribs.

During the week they are open from 12:00 to late, Saturdays from 11:00 to late and Sundays from 11:00 to 19:00.
