Three suspects were arrested in connection with an attempted hijacking in Monument on Monday night, June 6.
According to Zander Schlemmer, owner of Cordiguard Security, the company’s reaction officers apprehended the suspects at about 20:30 in Paul Kruger Street.
Schlemmer said they received information about the attempted hijacking from the Sector 4 CPF. They rushed to the area and after searching they found the suspects hiding in an adjacent veld. The suspects were found with a ‘puncture strip’, which is a homemade device used to puncture unsuspecting motorists’ vehicle tyres, drugs and knives in their possession.
Police took the suspects into custody.
Schlemmer urged motorists to be vigilant at night.
