Teen robbed: Man wanted for questioning

Police have released a photo of a man wanted in connection with a robbery in Chancliff of which a girl aged 16 was the victim.

The Krugersdorp police are looking for a man believed to have information in connection with a robbery of which a young girl was the victim.

In a statement from Krugersdorp Police Station spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane, he explained that on Monday, May 9 at around 15:30 a 16-year-old girl was on her way home from school when she was robbed of her Huawei P40 Lite phone.

The victim was walking along Robin Street in Chancliff when she was followed by a grey Honda. One of the men got out of the vehicle and slapped the girl across the face with an open hand. He then grabbed her cell phone.

Sebonyane said the man pictured is believed to be able to assist the police in this matter.

The suspect was wearing a pink hooded jacket, black takkies and dark blue jeans.”

The police are asking anyone who recognises the man or know his whereabouts to contact the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111. Alternatively they can contact the Krugersdorp police on 011 951 1151 or the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Nicolene McKie on 083 254 2209.
