Sticky fingers remain a problem in Mogale City — Mapogo crime report

Security company Mapogo A Mathamaga attended to six serious crime incidents across Mogale City in the period June 27 to July 2 – most relating to theft.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security attended to six incidents in the Krugersdorp area this past week, all of which entailed either theft or housebreaking.

A report supplied by the security company detailed the following incidents:

 Monday, June 27 at 17:00 – Theft on Blouberg Street, Noordheuwel: Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the front gate. They stole two gas bottles and small items from a vehicle on the premises that was not locked.

• Monday, June 27 at 09:42 – Housebreaking and theft on Market Street, Krugersdorp CBD: Perpetrators gained entry into the premises where they forced open the back door and stole three television sets and other items from the store. They fled the same way they entered.

• Wednesday, June 29 at 21:39 – Theft on Memorial Street, Monument: 
Perpetrators damaged the electric fence, entered the premises where they stole a security light from one of the units and fled the scene.

• Friday, July 1 at 04:26 – Attempted theft on 5th Street, Krugersdorp North: 
Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the fence. They switched off the power and when they attempted to remove a copper water pipe the alarm activated and they fled the scene.

• Saturday, July 2 at 05:20 – Theft on Luipaard Street, Krugersdorp CBD: 
Perpetrators climbed over the front gate, stole two bush cutters from an outbuilding and fled the scene.

• Saturday, July 2 at 10:05 – Attempted housebreaking on Roode Street, Krugersdorp West: 
Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises and removed the lock from the the store room door. They fled the scene without taking any items.
