One of Kagiso’s most wanted arrested

The police have finally arrested a man whom they believe have been involved in multiple armed robberies, attempted murders and murders.

While welcoming the arrest of one of the most wanted criminals in Kagiso, the acting station commander of the precinct, Colonel Peter Mabuso said no one could run from the long arm of the law forever.

“Crime indeed does not pay,” he said.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested recently after being on the run for some time. Some of the heinous and violent crimes he is believed to have been involved in include armed robberies, attempted murders and murders.

Captain Solomon Sibiya from the Kagiso police’s communications department said in a joint effort to book the suspect the Kagiso detectives’ serious and violent crimes unit collaborated with the district crime intelligence team and denationalised the information at their disposal.

The information they followed up on led them to a tavern in Tshepisong West where they spotted the armed suspect and arrested him.

A member of the detectives team who was closer to the suspect realised that he was reaching for the firearm attached to his waist. He acted swiftly and managed to stop him from discharging it. The suspect eventually was overpowered, disarmed and put under arrest.”

The police opened a case of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as a case of attempted murder. He appeared in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court where the case was postponed to July 25.
