Eskom has released a statement saying they will be implementing load reduction on Thursday evening from 17:00 to 22:00 – several West Rand areas will be affected.

Regarding Mogale City, load reduction is scheduled for Kagiso Central, Kagiso Ext 8 and Sinqobile.

Other West Rand areas to be affected include Zandspruit.

Eskom said in a statement that load reduction is necessary to avoid network overloading in high-density areas.

During the load-reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all of their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to power surges when supply returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damage to household appliances when supply is restored. Please do not report this outage.
