Computer lab for the community of Orient Hills
It will be equipped with Wi-Fi through the Gauteng Broadband Network so that community members can apply for jobs, prepare CVs, and set up their businesses such as creating business profiles or online registrations.
The community of Orient Hills will receive a computer lab as part of empowering and developing the livelihood of the community.
The Gauteng Department of e-Government has partnered with Altron Nexus, an information and communication technology company, to contribute towards information communication technologies (ICT) skills development for the residents of Mogale City.
The new computer lab to be opened will be celebrated through a sod-turning event on Monday, March 6 at Orient Hills, organised to observe the first day of constructing the lab. The event also aims to raise awareness and engage with the community on how the lab will be of benefit to the youth, people who own Small and Medium Enterprises (SMMES), and all community members.
“The purpose of the Orient Hills Computer Lab is to provide access to ICT resources for the residents of Orient Hills. It will be equipped with Wi-Fi through the Gauteng Broadband Network so that community members can apply for jobs, prepare CVs, and set up their businesses such as creating business profiles or online registrations. As a result, this will economically improve the lives of the community,” said Mzi Khumalo, MEC for e-Government.
