Lanseria cable thieves arrested after foot chase
Security officers track down suspects on a local property, recovering heavy equipment and electrical cables.
Two suspects were arrested and digging equipment was recovered after security guards disrupted four men on a property in Lanseria on August 27.
Guardmax Protection Service sales manager Gerrie van Rooyen said guards arrived at the property a few minutes after receiving a report of four suspicious men digging at the location at about 12:00.

“Upon arrival, the individuals were spotted and started fleeing in all directions as they noticed the officers arriving,” he said.
“After a lengthy foot chase, two suspects were successfully apprehended, and it was confirmed that the suspects dug up a whole bunch of underground electrical cable.”
Guardmax Protection Service officers recovered equipment used to dig up the cables, along with a wheelbarrow.
Van Rooyen confirmed two of the men were apprehended and handed over to police for further investigation, while the other two escaped.
