Gymnast (12) selected for world competitions in China

Summit Gymnastics Club is celebrating a major milestone after one of its rising young athletes was selected to represent South Africa on the international stage.

Twelve-year-old Bailey Wagner of Summit Gymnastics Club in Krugersdorp has reached a major milestone in her sporting career after being selected to represent South Africa at the 2026 World Age Group Competitions in Nanjing, China.

Wagner earned her place on the national team after competing in two national selection trials this year, where she showed steady improvement and continued to develop her skills. Her coach, Belinda Moneron, said Wagner’s progress throughout the year has been remarkable.

“Bailey has improved so much throughout the year. It has been incredibly rewarding to see her confidence, consistency and skills develop,” said Moneron.

The World Age Group Competitions, which take place from November 12 to 15, bring together some of the world’s leading young trampoline and tumbling athletes.

For Wagner, the opportunity is the result of countless hours of training, hard work and perseverance. Her achievement is also a proud moment for her family, coach and everyone at Summit Gymnastics Club.
