Krugersdorp church paints new slogan on wall to celebrate Youth Month

The church took the initiative in 2023 as a countermeasure to cover the swear words that were painted on the wall, which were negatively affecting the minds of the children.

The Krugersdorp West Full Gospel Church of God started their Youth Month celebrations early by painting the bridge wall in Commissioner Street.

The church took the initiative in 2023 as a countermeasure to cover the swear words that were painted on the wall, which were negatively affecting the minds of the children in the neighbourhood.

Instead, they painted ‘I love Krugersdorp West’ on the wall.

According to pastor Tona Morake, this year they decided to repaint the wall with ‘We Love South Africa’ to share some positivity about the country.

They are challenging other churches and communities to do the same in their communities.

”If each citizen served and came up with solutions in South Africa, we would have better, safer, and more sustainable communities.

“The team that painted the wall included our post-matric support students, Westcol TVET college students, children, and parents.

“We appreciate community businesses that sponsored the paint and refreshments for the young people.

“Mogale City’s Roads Department also recognised our initiative and appreciated us for keeping the wall clean and neat,” Tona said.

The church is looking at painting more walls and keeping the community clean. If you would like to support the church with tools, paints, and refreshments for students to make the work easier and efficient, contact Tona on 081 814 8251.
