There’s a new restaurant in town … Demure

A new restaurant in Noordheuwel seeks to impress with its dining and wining.

A new restaurant that aims to embody class, great food, and ambience has just opened its doors at Bell Drive Crossing, welcoming residents to enjoy a delightful variety of cuisines and drinks.

According to the owner, Landi Homan, the vision for Demure was born from a desire to create an elegant yet approachable space where great food, good company, and nostalgic music come together.

“We aimed to establish something different from the usual bar or pub vibe, focusing instead on a restaurant that celebrates quality ingredients, heartfelt service, and a space where women can feel safe and comfortable enjoying themselves, whether alone, with friends, or family.”

She described the menu as modern comfort food with an elegant twist, showcasing beautifully plated breakfasts, gourmet burgers, fresh homemade pastas, small sharing plates, seasonal mains, and wholesome salads.

“Everything is made with fresh, quality ingredients and prepared with care.

The restaurant emphasises what matters: Affordable, quality food, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service. At Demure, we don’t just serve meals; we create experiences.

“From handcrafted cocktails to freshly made sauces and pastas, attention to detail is our love language. The restaurant also strongly emphasises creating a safe and inviting space, especially for women, without compromising quality, style, or taste.”

Landi acknowledged that while the restaurant successfully opened its doors to the local community, it faced its fair share of challenges.

“As with any new venture, we encountered a few bumps. Transforming the space required significant structural changes, including building a new kitchen, deck, and bar area. We faced delays due to weather, supply issues, and the realities of launching a restaurant in a quieter part of the centre, but the result has been worth it, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built. Our signature Demure cocktail jars are quickly becoming favourites. We also serve classic favourites like Mimosas, Mojitos, and Long Island Iced Tea, all crafted with quality ingredients and meticulous attention to presentation.

Our short-term goal is to build a loyal customer base and become known as the go-to spot for casual elegance in Krugersdorp.

“Long-term, we aspire to grow the Demure brand beyond one location while always maintaining our core values of quality, consistency, and heartfelt hospitality,” Landi concluded.
