Altercation at tavern gone wrong: Woman kidnapped, boyfriend robbed

A couple were the victims of kidnapping and house robbery after an altercation with an unknown number of men at a tavern in Kagiso.

The West Rand District Trio Investigation and Tracing teams arrested three suspects aged between 25 and 34 for kidnapping and house robbery late on Saturday night, September 10.

According to an official police statement the team speedily followed up on information about a 28-year-old old woman and her 35-year-old boyfriend who were in an altercation with an unknown number of men at a tavern in Kagiso.

The woman reportedly was kidnapped, and the perpetrators subsequently went to her boyfriend’s house, robbed him of his household belongings before fleeing the scene.

The investigation team followed up on all the leads that led them to the suspects where they recovered all the stolen property.

They arrested the suspects who will appear in court soon on charges of kidnapping and house robbery.
