Police confirmed that a murder investigation is underway following the killing of a 53-year-old man.

A 53-year-old man was found murdered at his Wentworth Park home on Friday afternoon, January 17.

According to Gauteng Police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello, the victim was indeed a CPF Sector 4 patroller and his body was found in the garden with stab wounds. His dog was also found dead alongside him.

“As far as we are aware, the suspect is an alleged day worker who was employed as a gardner, however, no arrests have been made and we are currently investigating the case,” Sello said.

The victim’s family was approached but did not want to comment nor reveal his identity at this stage.
