West Rand School minibus hijacked

A Toyota Quantum used to transport learners with special needs at West Rand School was hijacked on Tuesday morning.

A minibus belonging to the West Rand School (that caters for a variety of learners with special needs) was hijacked near Kagiso at approximately 08:00 today, January 28.

Deputy principal Freddie Jordaan confirmed police were called and are busy investigating.

“It’s important that the community is aware that there were no children in the minibus at the time. The driver is also safe,” he said.

Jordaan described the minibus as a 2011 Toyota Quantum with registration number BH99KLGP. The word Kwazulu is also written on it.

“This is a big problem for us because we cannot transport all the children,” he continued.
