Fatal end to armed heist in Kromdraai
Krugersdorp security teams and residents launched a manhunt after a robbery. One suspect was arrested, another took his own life while surrounded, and a third is still at large.
One suspect is dead, another is in custody, and a third remains at large following an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Kromdraai on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident unfolded just before 13:00 on June 11, when local security company Guardmax Protection Services responded to reports of an armed business robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, security officers encountered three armed suspects fleeing toward nearby bushes along Kromdraai Road.
A manhunt was launched immediately. One suspect was apprehended, and another, when surrounded by guards, turned the gun on himself. He was declared dead at the scene,” confirmed Jan Venter, director of Guardmax.
A joint search involving security teams and community members was launched for the third suspect, who managed to evade capture.
The Muldersdrift police have taken over the investigation. According to Venter, the suspects have been positively linked to several armed robberies in the Cosmo City and Ruimsig areas.
The search for the third suspect continues.
