Stolen *Fortuner from Krugersdorp recovered in R2m Limpopo border crackdown
Joint border patrols in Limpopo led to the recovery of illicit goods worth over R2m, including a Toyota *Fortuner stolen in Krugersdorp, with several suspects arrested in separate incidents.
More than R2m worth of illicit goods were recovered in Limpopo during joint operations by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), including the South African Tank Regiment. Among the recoveries was a stolen Toyota *Fortuner from Krugersdorp.
According to SANDF Captain Moses Semon, soldiers were conducting patrols along the South Africa–Zimbabwe border when they intercepted the vehicle, valued at R1.4m. The driver abandoned it after realising he had been cornered.

“In addition, illicit cigarettes valued at R233 816 were confiscated. A *Toyota Hilux valued at R36 000 was also recovered. Soldiers further discovered that the Hilux was transporting illicit medication valued at R22 080. The three occupants were arrested,” Semon said.
In a separate incident near Musina, several suspects were arrested after being found transporting livestock in a Hyundai truck and trailer, valued at R390 000 and R60 000, respectively.


The livestock – goats and sheep – were valued at R84 800 and R37 800, but were being transported without proper documentation.
Semon confirmed that all confiscated goods and arrested suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

It previously stated that a stolen Toyota Hilux from Krugersdorp, valued at R1.4 million, was recovered during a R2 million Limpopo border operation. It has since been clarified that while a Hilux was among the three vehicles recovered, it was not stolen from Krugersdorp.
