CIT officers targeted in Krugersdorp West ATM robbery

Suspects escaped with cash after targeting CIT officers at an ATM in Krugersdorp West, prompting a police investigation.

Police are investigating an armed robbery involving cash-in-transit (CIT) officers at an ATM on Rustenburg Road on April 20.

The incident occurred at a retailer, where a visible police presence was reported from about 15:20. The Krugersdorp News was on the scene as officers responded.

According to West Rand Flying Squad spokesperson Karen du Plessis, suspects targeted CIT officers during the afternoon.

“The suspects fled with the money and no arrests have been made yet. There were no shots fired and only one injury was reported,” she said.
