Five arrested in major drug busts across Krugersdorp
A week-long crackdown by the West Rand Flying Squad led to multiple arrests and significant drug seizures across Kagiso, Krugersdorp CBD and Wentworth Park.
The West Rand Flying Squad (WRFS) carried out a series of arrests recently targeting cases ranging from assault to serious drug-related offences.
According to WRFS spokesperson Karen du Plessis, officers arrested five suspects during this period.
On April 20, three suspects were arrested in Kagiso at 22:45 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. A fourth suspect was arrested shortly after in Kagiso on the same charge.

On April 24 at about 19:00, police arrested a suspect in the Krugersdorp CBD for dealing in drugs. Officers confiscated 38 Mandrax tablets and 115 grams of crystal meth, valued at R37 123.

Later that evening, police acted on intelligence regarding another drug dealer in Wentworth Park and made an arrest. During the operation, officers seized 115 Mandrax tablets, 200 Nyaope ties, 31 grams of crystal meth, 80 grams of heroin, and 91 grams of Cat, with an estimated value of R60 718.
Du Plessis confirmed that another suspect was arrested in Kagiso that evening for possession of drugs, after officers found six grams of crystal meth and seven Mandrax tablets, valued at R2 268.
