Abandoned hijacked vehicle found in Lanseria veld

A hijacked vehicle was recovered in Lanseria after protection services responded to a tracking alert and found it abandoned.

During the early hours of Father’s Day, June 21, Guardmax Protection Services recovered a hijacked vehicle in the Lanseria area after receiving an alert from a vehicle tracking company.

According to Guardmax’s sales manager Gerrie van Rooyen, response units were immediately dispatched to the vehicle’s last known location, where it was found stationary near an informal settlement.

“We found it abandoned in a veld and secured the scene for further investigation. The scene was later handed over to the tracking company and the vehicle’s owner, who was overjoyed as it was recovered with no major damage,” he said.
