Guardmax Protection Services apprehends wanted suspect

Security officers apprehend a house burglary and theft suspect who evaded arrest for two months.

A resident in a Lanseria informal settlement alerted Guardmax Protection Services after spotting a wanted suspect at around 10:40 on October 2.

Guardmax Protection Services sales manager Gerrie van Rooyen said units dispatched to the scene located the suspect using information they received.

“The team decided to further investigate, and upon arrival at the given location, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended not far from where the foot chase started,” Van Rooyen said.

Van Rooyen explained that the suspect had evaded arrest for about two months and was wanted for burglary and theft.

“The suspect unfortunately decided to hide in the wrong place and met the wrong team, which stopped him in his tracks. The suspect was handed over to police for further investigations,” he said.
