Multi-million-rand drug lab uncovered at Krugersdorp plot

A major police operation is under way along the R563 in Oaktree following the discovery of a suspected illicit drug manufacturing operation.

A massive police operation is currently under way at a plot in Oaktree, Krugersdorp, following the discovery of a multi-million-rand drug manufacturing laboratory on Thursday morning, October 8.

The News is on the scene, where numerous police units, including the Flying Squad, K9 and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (DPCI), also known as the Hawks, are monitoring the crime scene along the R563 near the sinkhole.

SAPS has confirmed that Crime Intelligence at National Head Office, together with the DPCI, uncovered the drug manufacturing laboratory on the property.

Details surrounding the operation and the laboratory remain limited at this stage.
