Next year, the country will hold general elections. We are going to see politicians becoming friendly and closer to the people. They will also kiss babies and attend church services. That will be a sign of the silly.
Additionally, political parties will also make bold promises such as creating jobs, improving the economy and solving the energy crisis. Neither will talk about climate change, which is wreaking havoc in our country, especially in KZN.

The ANC has had enough opportunity to develop this country but it has failed to do so. In the next years elections, it is expected to garner less than 50% votes. This shows that its star is waning and voters are deserting it – because of poor service delivery.
Interestingly, the governing party is singing the renewal song. However, their song has a discord: its cabinet has people who were there during the Nelson Mandela era. And its MPs are dominated by older people, who most of the time doze off in parliament. Renewal my foot.

On the other hand, the DA is having a race challenge, which seems to be a never ending problem. Its leader does not inspire confidence. During his tenure, the official opposition party has lost more black leaders. It’s a reflection of his poor leadership.
The third most powerful party in the country, EFF, is targeting the youth. However, the party cannot be trusted. One moment it supports Pravin Ghordan, the next it hates him with a passion. Today it says one thing, tomorrow it says the complete opposite. It has no standpoint.
ActionSA is a new kid on the block. It is yet to contest the general elections. Polls suggests that it will get 2% of the votes in the next elections. However, many view it as a DA light because most of its leaders are former DA members. Perception is everything in politics.
The IFP has become a regional party. It’s stronghold is KZN and it is seen as a party that serves the interests of Zulus. In addition, It’s new leader has no national appeal.
It is clear from above that the ANC has lost favour with the voters, who have given it more than enough chance to prove itself. And the opposition does not offer an alternative. Where does that live the voters? Nowhere …
