Burst pipe affecting water supply in CBD
Residents across the Krugersdorp CBD can expect water supply challenges as a result of a pipe burst in Luipaard Street.
A burst pipe on Luipaard Street close to the Krugersdorp Correctional Services has resulted in an immediate water shutdown in the CBD.
Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu confirmed that Mogale’s Water Department is assessing the extent of the damage.
“Depending on the extent of the damage, the pipe is made of polyvinyl chloride, repair work and restoration will be completed today [September 3]. However, if it is a steel pipe delivery, repairs may take longer. An arrangement for alternative water supply through water tankers will be put in place should the need arise. An update will be provided,” Mahlangu said.
