Mogale City up to date with property valuation
The General Valuation Roll will be open for public inspection at the valuation office and the Mogale City website from February 1 to April 30.

In line with the Municipal Property Rates Act, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has complied and officially submitted the certified 2025/ 2030 General Valuation Roll to the municipal manager, as required by the Act.
According to MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, the handover ceremony was held in the Mayoral Chamber recently, under the supervision of officials from the Gauteng Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA).
The municipal valuer and manager, Christel Kuhn, officially submitted the certified 2025/2030 valuation roll to the executive manager responsible for Corporate Support Services (CSS) who accepted it on behalf of the municipal manager.
“The General Valuation Roll is a property register that is compiled every five years. It is a record of all the values and categories of properties within a municipal area that serves as the basis for levying property rates. The General Valuation Roll aims to ensure that the municipality has an accurate and up-to-date record of property values, which is used to calculate property rates to ensure fairness and accuracy,” Mahlangu said.
Addressing the audience on handing over the General Valuation Roll, Kuhn said, “This important step marks the beginning of the public inspection process, allowing community members to review the valuations within the municipality.”
“She added that the General Valuation Roll forms the cornerstone of the rates base of MCLM, residence and property owners are encouraged to make use of this opportunity to view the General Valuation Roll and ensure the valuation entries are accurate.”
The General Valuation Roll will be open for public inspection at the valuation office and the Mogale City website from February 1 to April 30 at which point members of the public have the right to object to specific entries in the General Valuation Roll should it be deemed to be incorrect.
