Municipality clarifies the issue of recruitment

Mogale City Local Municipality clarifies the alleged improper employment of general workers.

The municipality has noted with concern the circulation of voice notes and messages on social media regarding recent appointments of general workers in the municipality’s Community Development Services Department.

According to Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) communications manager Adrian Amod, community representatives have advised that the appointed workers’ appointment and commencement of work will be disrupted by various forms of violence including arson of municipal infrastructure.

“While the municipality discourages any form of violence and vandalism, members of the public should also understand that all municipal recruitment processes are implemented in line with our recruitment policy,” Amod said

He added the policy provides for staffing in the municipality by suitable candidates who are mainly residents in the city.

“We hope that citizens gain clarity as we still receive complaints over this issue.”
