Burst pipe in Rant-en-Dal: Repair work well underway
Electricity supply to properties on Wren Street will be temporarily interrupted due to repair work of a burst pipe underneath a mini substation.
MCLM’s water management division is aware of a burst pipe beneath a mini substation in Wren Street, Rant-en-Dal which has led to electricity supply interruptions since Tuesday, January 28.
According to Mogale City communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, the repair process was delayed to due the complexity of the work.

“To access the damaged pipe, the mini substation must be temporarily removed requiring a suspension of electricity supply to safely proceed with the execution.
”Planning has been finalised and teams are now on-site to carry out the necessary repairs. As a result, electricity supply to properties on Wren Street will be temporarily interrupted while the work is underway,” Mahlangu confirmed.
