Kenmare to go dark next
Residents of Kenmare have been notified that they will also experience a scheduled power outage, set to take place one day after Noordheuwel’s planned electricity interruption.
Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) revealed that Kenmare will experience a scheduled power outage from 09:00 to 17:00 on June 3.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu said the outage is necessary to conduct essential maintenance, including the decommissioning and refurbishment of a mini substation, which will impact Lismore and Willoughby streets. Adjacent streets may also be affected.
“To prevent potential damage from electrical surges, residents are strongly advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and switch off all appliances during the outage.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe and improved electrical infrastructure,” she concluded.
