Another burst pipe hits Krugersdorp CBD

Krugersdorp CBD faces another water outage as a burst pipe on Monument Street disrupts supply, just weeks after a similar incident. Residents are encouraged to find alternative water sources while repairs are underway.

The Krugersdorp CBD has experienced another burst pipe today, October 21, leaving surrounding areas with dry taps.

Councillor Mark Trump informed the Krugersdorp News that the burst occurred in Monument Street, between Ockerse and Human streets.

“The road has been closed, leaving the CBD and parts of Krugersdorp North without water. Please make water provisions as repairs are carried out,” he said.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s communications officer, Refilwe Mahlangu, confirmed the issue has been reported and that the section has been isolated for repairs.

“The maintenance team is on-site, and repairs are expected to be completed within approximately five hours. Water supply will be restored immediately after the work is completed,” she concluded.

The News previously reported a similar burst pipe on October 9 at the corner of Monument and Human Street, which also left residents without water.
