Need help with indigent registration? Mogale to host awareness day for residents

Households can learn how to apply for free basic services and confirm required paperwork during the MCLM upcoming campaign at Swaneville Hall.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) Indigent Management division will host an awareness campaign on November 21 to inform residents in Wards 1, 2 and 35 about the registration process for free basic services.

MCLM assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, said this campaign will take place at the Swaneville Hall from 09:00 to 14:00.

She added that residents will need the following registration documents:

• Proof of income, latest three months’ bank statements, or an affidavit if unemployed
• SASSA confirmation letter for grant recipients
• Your certified copies of ID and those of your spouse and your dependents
• Latest municipal account and prepaid electricity meter number
• Proof of your marital status (marriage certificate, divorce decree, proof of customary union, or death certificate)
• Letter of authority/ executorship if the property and municipal account are not in your name

She added that additional documents may be requested during registration.
