Limit use during water shutdown, says municipality

With high temperatures expected, residents are urged to limit water use to essential needs to help maintain reservoir levels during Rand Water’s 52-hour maintenance.

Rand Water’s planned 52-hour maintenance, which began at 04:00 this morning, January 6, is now underway and with soaring temperatures expected, residents are being urged to conserve water.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s communications manager Adrian Amod said the heat may increase water usage, but the community should use water only for essential household needs.

“This will help preserve reservoir levels and ensure water remains available for as long as possible during the maintenance period,” he explained.

• Kagiso Ext 13 Reservoir: 65%
