Water park pipe repairs complete, supply unstable

Mogale City has repaired the burst pipe at a water park, though some areas are still experiencing water outages.

Following a burst pipe at a water park that affected Breaunanda, Kenmare, Silverfields, and Mindalore, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) completed repairs at 04:00 on January 27.

Refilwe Mahlangu, assistant manager for media and PR at MCLM, said that due to peak-hour water consumption, some areas were expected to experience prolonged outages.

“While supply has stabilised in certain areas after the morning peak, some locations are still experiencing outages. A team is on site, troubleshooting to determine the cause,” she stated.

She added that there is currently no estimated time for when water will be fully restored.
