Water supply begins recovering after Rand Water maintenance

Water is returning to the system after maintenance at the Eikenhof Booster Pumping Station, though some Kagiso residents are still experiencing low pressure.

Rand Water and City Power’s recent maintenance at the Eikenhof Booster Pumping Station has been completed, and water has started flowing back into the system.

The system is now recovering, and according to Mogale City Local Municipality’s assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the water supply across town remains stable.

However, parts of Kagiso are currently experiencing low water pressure, and high-lying areas may have no water as the system continues to recover,” she said on May 30.

Mahlangu said full recovery was expected by May 31 and urged residents who have water to use it sparingly so reservoirs can refill.

“Water tankers have been deployed to affected areas, and we encourage residents to contact their ward councillor for information on their locations,” she concluded.
