Two titles in one month for local beauty

Tenícke Smit, 22, will represent South Africa in New York at the Miss International Princess pageant followed by the International Performing Arts Championships that will be held in New Jersey next year.

Tenícke Smit has won the titles of Miss International Princess RSA 2022 and the National Face of Talent Africa during the past month.

She will represent South Africa in New York in July 2023 at the Miss International Princess pageant followed by the International Performing Arts Championships that will be held in New Jersey in 2023.

At just 22 years old, this talented young entrepreneur holds a BCom Economics & Business Science degree and started her own performing arts school, Unicke Dance Models Performing Arts & Events in January.

She has danced since the age of 9 and has represented South Africa in Europe, Africa and the United States over the past 13 years at international competitions and world championships.

With her performing arts school only in its infancy, the studio has already received a special award at the Talent Africa Nationals as a Top 5 studio out of 65 studios that participated over the 10 days at the competition held in Alberton.

Tenícke has also received 21 individual medals at the Talent Africa Nationals, winning two diamond medals for modelling work, two platinum medals for modelling and dancing and 17 gold medals for dancing in the genres of acrobatic gymnastics, jazz, musical character and contemporary as well as for fitness modelling, commercial, spokes modelling and catalogue print.

Even though it is not required by the two titles that she now carries – charity work is high up on her agenda for the next 12 months. Tenícke is set to make a difference in the communities of Krugersdorp and Roodepoort and is in the process of registering an non profit organisation to assist children, women and homeless people.

Her vision is to teach her students new skills during 2023 other than just dancing, modelling and public speaking and will launch a project where she will teach her students to crochet with recycled material in order to make sleeping mats and bags for the homeless. Doing charity work is not new for Tenícke as she launched a water bottle project for The Cradle of Hope in 2020, did work at the Roodepoort Child Welfare Society and Adorabull Rescue for Bull Terriers to name a few. Charity work has just always been something that she has done from a young age donating clothes and old toys to children’s homes.

“It is important to maintain balance,” said Tenícke “as it keeps me grounded and focused on what I want to achieve in the long run.

“Without my current studies towards a degree in Christian Entrepreneurship, dancing, modelling and doing charity work, I will not be Tenícke. I truly want to show my gratitude for the talents I have received by giving back to the community in such a way that I enrich someone’s life.”
