Concerns as stock theft rises in Tarlton
The increase number of cases of stock theft reported between September and November this year have raised concern to Tarlton police.

According to Sergeant Mashego from the Tarlton Police, the increase number of cases of stock theft reported between September and November this year have raised concern.
“However,” Sergeant Mashego said, “measures to prevent this, such as patrolling are in place”.
“Community members are urged to be vigilant and help the police in the fight against crime by patrolling the area through the neighbourhood watch, Community Policing Forum (CPF), community police relationship structures and enforcing of the security measures in the farms. In separate occasions, the stock theft cases were reported in Hillside, Delarey, Helderblom, Swartkraans and Waterval.
“Syndicates cut off the fences to gain entry and poison the dogs before committing the crime.”

• Brand your livestock
• Count your livestock on a regular basis
• Erect proper fence around the property
• Report any suspicious movements around your property
• Know who enters your farm or property
• Screen/ profile your employees before hiring them
