Kitty Kazz gala evening a purr-fect success

Local cat shelter hosts a fundraising gala to help finance a new vehicle.

Community members dusted off their glamorous shoes, fancy dresses, and pocketbooks for local cat shelter Kitty Kazz’s Classy Cats Fundraising Gala evening. The gala evening was gifted to the non-profit by Usambara Wedding Venue as a show of gratitude after the shelter helped trap, neuter and release the venue’s feral colony.

The proceeds from the gala all go to the shelter’s fundraising for a new shelter vehicle. Karin Donald, the founder of Kitty Kazz, shared her harrowing journey through overcoming addiction and life’s hardships to emerging as a saviour for cats.

“It was an emotional evening for everyone at the gala. Tears were streaming down people’s cheeks as they listened to my testimony of my triumph and transformation after surviving 18 years on death’s doorstep living with multiple addictions, traumas, severe depression, and living a life of chaos,” recounted Donald, adding that she believes the evening was a perfect and beautiful gold star event.

With almost 200 guests ready to open their hearts and pockets to help raise funds for Kitty Kazz, the evening went without a hiccup. Guests left the event with their tummies full, hearts filled to the brim, knowing that they assisted a selfless charity continue its work to help give cats a better future.
