Monument Rotary Club reflects on a prosperous year
It has been a busy year for the Monument Rotary Club. Their final function of the year was a chance for the Rotarians to reflect, celebrate, and look forward to more success.
The Monument Rotary Club ended 2023 with a Christmas party of note at Khosa Sports Club.
What would be their final function of the year, the Rotarians also welcomed various guests who have all played a pivotal role in helping the community. In addition, they welcomed new members who wish to take part in numerous initiatives.

The Rotarians were served with delicious meals and drinks, however, it was an evening where members were able to look forward to 2024 while also reflecting on the various successful community projects done this year.
During the dinner, Monument Rotary Club president Jeanne Morland expressed great satisfaction and shared the success involving the numerous initiatives the club was involved in.

“We sponsored our Krugersdorp Interact Club officers to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening Camp nurturing the seeds of future leadership. But our commitment didn’t stop there. We embraced the vulnerable and disadvantaged, repainting and waterproofing roofs at the West Rand Association for Persons with Disabilities, providing not just a physical shelter but also a symbol of protection and care.”

Several other community projects the club embarked on include the revamping of the kitchen at the Luipaardsvlei Old Age Home, ensuring that the elders live in comfort and dignity. The club has also worked with The Bethany House Trust where they installed an inverter with batteries, bringing light and hope into the lives of the residents. The club also installed a water tank at House Nehemiah, which is home to many vulnerable children.

“Our efforts in fundraising have been both creative and successful from the exhilarating golf day to a fun-filled bingo evening – all aimed at supporting meaningful causes,” Jeanne adds.
The function was successful as the Rotarians look forward to taking bigger leaps in improving the community and gaining the unwavering support of the community.
