Let’s make Magalies livable and friendly – forum exec

The Magaliesburg Business and Tourism Forum calls on residents, authorities, and businesses to make Magalies friendly and attractive.

An executive member of the Magaliesburg Business and Tourism Forum, Hannalie Sanders, urged residents to play a part in making the town livable and attractive.

‘‘We have partnered with the Working on Fire Programme’s team which is cutting trees and tall grasses. The team will continue to reduce the ‘fuel load’ in the area. We want our town to be friendly and attractive for businesses to thrive well,’’ said Sanders.

She said they will be setting up the formal structures to accommodate informal traders. This, Sanders said will ensure sustainable economic activities for the residents and visitors.

Sanders said that would minimise littering and help co-ordinate business activities in town. Henceforth, more economic opportunities can be created be it work or business.

There is buy-in from the local authorities, residents, and businesses to change the face of the town.

Sanders said the residents are supportive and contributing to its cleanness.

“The local authorities will be enforcing the by-laws of the town. One of the challenges for business is crime. In collaboration with law enforcement, we have surveillance cameras installed in town to help combat crime. We are installing solar lights around the town. This helps light it up during load-shedding. Residents are welcome to contribute to making the town and its surrounding areas business-friendly,’’ she explained.
