The most community driven night market

The most community-orientated market in town has something for everyone.

The Cedar Tree Night Market takes place once a month and has a lot to offer for family and friends.

The night market takes place every second last Friday of the month (depending on the weather) at the Khosa Sports Club from 17:00 to 22:00. Chanelle and Chris Visser are the organisers of the market, and say that they did not want to disappoint the community when the previous organisers handed the responsibility to them.

There are about 50 stalls every time, all selling high-quality goods. This is due to the strict application process to apply as a vendor. The market includes everything from food trucks to vintage types of vinyl for sale. You can also enjoy a pint of craft beer while listening to live music from local artists which never fails to entertain.

“There is always something new and the community appreciates it,” says Chanelle. The main goal of the market is to support the vendors and is an activity for the community to enjoy and socialise, with up to 800 visitors every time.

Paul Westergreen, a vendor at the market, says that people are always coming to enjoy themselves and have a family-orientated experience.

The market is one of the biggest and most established in the West Rand.

“Me and my best friends come every month to socialise and reconnect with the vibrant atmosphere at the market,” says a frequent visitor of the market, Zander Ladeira.
