Santa Run with bikers this weekend

The West Rand Bikers Association will host a Santa Run on Sunday, October 27, to support the needy.

The Krugersdorp News highlighted the common misconception of bikers as unruly gangsters, emphasising that the majority are, in fact, kind and compassionate individuals.

One of the subjects featured in the News’ article was that bikers often love to do charity work and collection drives for the needy.

This Sunday, October 27, the West Rand Bikers Association, which includes five local biker clubs, will host a Santa Run to collect toys for underprivileged children ahead of the festive season.

The president of High Way Motorcycle Ministries, Rodney Golden, says they will also be collecting stationery for older children, and funds collected will go towards families in need.

“We want to get as many people as possible to support these people in need. The more people involved, the more children will receive Christmas gifts,” Rodney says.

The mass ride will start at 10:00 at the Pinehaven Sasol service station. The bikers will drive with their Christmas-decorated bikes to 14 Toyota Street, Aureus, Randfontein for the event.

Entry will be R50 with a toy, and R100 without a toy, where the entry will include a badge.

Rodney concludes there will be live entertainment, prizes, jumping castles and vendors.
