Festive food project a satisfying success
Local businesses support organisation by donating a percentage of sales.
IWISA No 1 launched their Fills Good initiative at President Hyper, just in time for Christmas.
PR representative Leigh Callipolitis said this campaign saw them donating a percentage of their products sold at President Hyper to The Cradle of Hope.
“Intending to raise funds for a seven-seater vehicle for the organisation, we encouraged shoppers to share the joy of feeling good and doing good. Timed perfectly for the holiday season, the official launch of the initiative allowed consumers to make a real difference in the lives of others while shopping for their families,” she said.
Sibongile Mooko, premier executive for marketing at IWISA said the holidays can be especially challenging for vulnerable communities, and that it was important for them to kick off the initiative before the season started.

Jorge de Sousa, buying and groceries group executive head for President Hyper said they wanted to amplify the local impact and difference the Cradle of Hope is making through their work with the most vulnerable in our community, where they care for and support them when they need it most.
“We were excited about helping raise a donation that assisted towards purchasing a new seven-seater vehicle. This could help the team transport beneficiaries to the doctor and hospital as needed, as well as drop off and fetch children staying at the Cradle from various schools in the area. It could make a real difference to their daily operations,” he explained.
Leigh says The Cradle of Hope has become a haven for women and children in particular, providing shelter, food and support programmes to help them rebuild and reclaim their lives, where they also run a number of other local initiatives to assist the most vulnerable in the Krugersdorp community, including a feeding scheme which supports up to 2 000 people per day.
“We are deeply grateful to the companies involved for selecting us as the beneficiaries of this incredible campaign. Every contribution will go a long way in helping us continue to provide hope and healing to those who need it most,” concluded Melodie van Brakel, founder of The Cradle of Hope.
