Orphaned kids, needy animals spoiled for a day
The Open Heart Foundation and partners reached out to orphaned children and two animal shelters.

The Open Heart Foundation recently partnered with numerous other organisations to host a fun day for orphaned children and collect animal food for two animal shelters.
Co-founder of the organisation Mariska Olivier, said the foundation assisted and partnered with TD Markets who wanted to bless a few kids with a day filled with joy.

“The foundation was extremely lucky to also partner with the 4am club in hosting a fun day for over 200 kids coming from all over, including orphanages, informal areas and foster housing. They had a full-on day of face painting, food, drinks, sweets, popcorn, Ice cream not to mention the waterslides as well as bow and arrow shooting,” she said excitedly.
During this time, they also had an outreach to collect animal food for local animal shelters.
“We got a few more donors involved and were very blessed to be able to donate 1.6 tons to the 9th Day Animal Rescue Centre and 1.2 tons to Wetnose Animal Rescue Centre. Of course, there was a little fun for the pups with over 600 ropes to play with,” she concluded.
