Painting for charity
After Belly2Brain's first fundraiser for the year, the founder would like to encourage the community to get involved.
Belly2Brain NPO kicked off their annual fundraising calendar with a Rose-themed Valentine’s event hosted by Angie Kuun Potgieter from Canvas and Cabernet Events.
Founder of Belly2Brain, Dominique Tibbles, said it was hosted at Doppio Zero in Cradlestone Mall, and the participants enjoyed bringing out their creative flair for charity.
“The Belly2Brain NPO’s 2025 calendar has many social events this year, with a focus on its 3200 x R100 campaign, to raise a monthly annuity income of R320 000 per month to be utilised towards its monthly outreaches, school drives, mentorship programs, the purchase of a vehicle and once licensed with the Department of Social Services, to be able to open its first house of safety for 12 boys. The Boys to Mighty Men home will be a place where boys will be schooled, mentored and loved to create a ripple effect of boys becoming men who will be captains of industry in their communities. Fathers and mentors who will lead with their hearts and not their fists,” she explained.
Dominique said it was a beautiful evening where strangers shared laughs and stories around a festive table of acrylic paints, a fabulous playlist on the boom box and ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as each one admired each other’s creative works.
“A template is provided as the theme for the evening ‘The Roses’ but Angie always encourages her participants to use their creative flair when joining a Canvas and Cabernet event,” she said.
Dominique would like to encourage individuals and corporations to partner with Belly2Brain.
“We do not sell a product, but certainly an opportunity to improve the future of an individual (child or adult) who feels lost and undignified. The Belly2Brain Ethos is brought on by James 1:27. ‘Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world,’” she explained.
Belly2Brain is Section 18A Registered Non-Profit, and a tax certificate can be issued as well as corporates spend can be recognised for their BEE Audits.
“Belly2Brain will never solicit individuals or companies for donations individually or via spam – please always confirm with the organisation if the request is valid as we understand we live in a world where crime comes in all forms – including taking advantage of non-profits,” she concluded.
