A father’s tribute, a hero’s mission: Robert Earle’s story of strength and spirit
Robert Earle is not your ordinary resident of Krugersdorp. His story is a great example of just how far willpower and determination can take you.
From swimming around Robben Island to cycling from Krugersdorp to Bloemfontein and pulling an aircraft, wheelchair-bound Robert Earle proves that anything is possible.
He may be physically disabled, but that does not stop him from backing down on any challenge whatsoever. Even at the age of 70, he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Robert served in the South African Army (now South African National Defence Force) as a soldier for over 13 years. While serving his nation, he had an unfortunate flight accident in a gunship helicopter in 1978, leaving him disabled.
He now regularly does challenges for various charities and dedicates every deed to his late son, who lost his life in a car crash.
