According to regional commander Gerhard Nieuwoudt, how it exactly caught fire is unclear at this stage.
“We received a call at about 07:30 regarding a structural fire at the restaurant on the corner of Voortrekker Road and Kloof Street.
Numerous resources arrived, including firefighters and volunteers,” he stated.
Nieuwoudt concluded that smoke was a challenge due to limited windows and doors, however, all respondents worked well together to contain and fight the blaze.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, with most of the takeaway still intact.
