Monnas’ 1st hockey team shows KHS who’s boss after 8–0 drubbing

Kenmare — In another local Krugersdorp derby on day 2 of the Best of the West festival, Hoërskool Monument High School showed Krugersdorp High School (KHS) who’s boss with a massive 8–0 victory.

The News attended the boys’ first team hockey clash, which was delayed after the lightning alarm went off; however, the crowd cheered once the go-ahead was given for the match to start.

During the first period, Monnas had to work hard and scored two goals in quick succession. The second period saw them score another goal with only one minute remaining.

In the third period, Monnas scored another two quick goals, bringing the score to 5–0.

The final quarter was Monnas’s best round, as they scored three goals.
