According to the church committee leader, Charmaine Bensch, the church was established in 1968 with only eight members under Die Gemeente van Christus in Suid-Afrika. It has been known as Nuwe Lewe Aanbiddings Sentrum since 2018 and was renamed Connexo.

The programme is an annual initiative where the church aims to bring seniors together to connect with God, one another, and the world.

“We are hosting six events this year and do home visits in June and July. We strive to do outreaches every year, and this year it was Fora among them.

The purpose is to show church members that they can still make a difference, no matter how small,” Charmaine said.

Connexo Church is located at the corner of Vyfde and Kingdon Street, Krugersdorp North.

Throughout the day, Connexo members had the opportunity to play and socialise with the animals on the premises. Fora provides a quality of life shelter for 350 unwanted dogs and 150 cats. The animals are dewormed, vaccinated, and sterilised, receiving any necessary veterinary care, along with a warm bed and good food.
