The Krugersdorp News reached out to Rita Meiring, who says she is anxious about this situation.
“We need water every day for hygiene, cleaning and washing dishes. Without it, it disrupts everything,” she states.
Besides water being an essential in the kitchen, she is reminded to think about flushing toilets, and without water, it can bring businesses to a halt.
Luckily, we have prepared and have three water tanks, but what do you do when they run dry?”
If Meiring’s tanks run dry, they would have to close their doors until the water is restored.
She says there are also numerous other expenses to cover if there are water disruptions, like electricity to power the pump for the tanks.
“I think it is essential for businesses to be prepared for these disruptions in our country, as the situation will not change. I encourage people to be prepared and install tanks. Luckily, we were warned ahead of time that it would happen, and it is a blessing that we could prepare for it,” she concludes.
