Missing man identified as body recovered from Monument Dam
Police confirm a missing man’s body was found in Monument Dam, but how he died remains a mystery.
Gauteng police have confirmed that the body recovered from Monument Dam on Saturday, October 4, was that of a man who had been reported missing, and investigations are underway into the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.
According to provincial police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo, an inquest docket has been opened.

“The cause of death is uncertain at the moment, and a postmortem will be conducted to determine it,” Masondo said.
Police are yet to verify the man’s identity.
