Police, security and paramedics are on the scene after a body was recovered from Monument Dam.

A large crowd gathered in shock at Monument Dam, near Key West Shopping Centre, earlier today (October 4) after a body was recovered from the water.

According to reaction officer Edward Wolhiter, paramedics pulled a man from the dam shortly before noon.

The Krugersdorp News team is on the scene at the corner of Paardekraal Drive and Begin Street, near the Paul Kruger statue, where police and other emergency services remain.

“At this stage, very little information is available,” Wolhiter said.
