West Rand EMS provides more details on Viljoen Street crash

West Rand EMS shares more details about how the motorcycle collided with the vehicle on Viljoen Street this morning.

After a motorcycle and vehicle collided on Viljoen Street in Krugersdorp-North this morning, October 30, West Rand Emergency Services provided an official update.

Regional commander Gerhard Nieuwoudt said the department received the call at 06:38.

According to Nieuwoudt, one man sustained life-threatening injuries, while another sustained moderate injuries.

“The vehicle was turning into Viljoen Street from a yard when the motorcycle collided with its right front side while travelling toward Roodepoort,” he said.

Nieuwoudt added that multiple services responded to the scene, including personnel from Krugersdorp Fire Station 38, private and state ambulances, traffic police, and the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

He concluded that the co-ordinated response was effective and that the scene was cleared by 07:48.
